Keynote Remote Not Working: iPhone Does Not Appear in "Enable" Window

I loaded iWork '09 onto my MacBook Pro, as well as the keynote remote program onto my iPhone and attempted to sync the two. On first attempt the iPhone registered and then froze when I attempted to enable it. I had to shut down the machine to break the freeze. Ever since it does not register in the remote preferences.

I tried it with my iPod touch to see if it was a problem with the program on the phone, but same thing -- no device is located. I also deleted the Keynote remote from my phone and iPod and tried again to no avail.

It seems that it must be a problem on the computer.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.
