iphone synced but i cannot delete songs

HI guys!!
Is there a DELETE SONGS FROM THE IPHONE FOR DUMMIES????

I have my iphone synced with the computer, and when I click on the music I have on it, I can see all of them, but I cannot uncheck the boxes.
I don't know how to explain it, but the look like they are in a lighter black than the music on the library...
It sounds weird, but maybe it happenned to someone else!!!

Thanks for reading!!!

You can sync an iPhone with iTunes, or manually manage music and videos with iTunes.

If you want to sync your iPhone with iTunes, you remove songs from your iPhone in the same way the songs were transferred to your iPhone - via the iTunes sync process.

If you have selected sync sync all songs and playlists, you can select sync only checked songs and videos under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences. To remove a song from your iPhone, uncheck the song in your iTunes library followed by a sync.

Or you can choose selected playlists under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences along with sync only checked songs and videos selected. You can create multiple playlists in iTunes. Place the songs from your iTunes library in the chosen playlist or playlists. Select the playlist or playlists in the window below the selected playlists selection under the Music tab for your iPhone sync preferences followed by a sync to add the music to your iPhone. To remove a song from your iPhone, remove it from the playlist in iTunes followed by a sync. Or with sync only checked songs and videos selected under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences, uncheck the song or songs in the playlist that you want removed from your iPhone followed by a sync.

I prefer doing the latter since I have a number of playlists created in Tunes for listening to select music on my computer, or wirelessly through my stereo system via Airtunes with my Airport Express wireless router. I may want to remove a song from my iPhone that is available in a playlist that I have selected to be transferred to my iPhone, but I don't want to remove the song from the playlist in iTunes. I uncheck the song in the playlist in iTunes followed by a sync to remove the song from my iPhone.

I can add more songs to my iPhone by placing the songs in an existing playlist that I have selected to be transferred to my iPhone followed by a sync, or create a new playlist for the music I want to add. I can also remove an entire playlist of music from my iPhone by deselecting the playlist under the Music tab for my iPhone sync preferences followed by a sync.

If you want to manually manage music and videos with your iPhone, you select this under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences. This allows for dragging select music from your iTunes library to your iPhone in the iTunes source list to add the music to your iPhone, and you can select and delete music from your iPhone manually in the iTunes source list.

After syncing, enabling manually managing music and videos will erase all iTunes content from your iPhone first.
