Uninstall Ghostscript

Hi -

I installed Ghostscript and it has completely thrown my copy of Illustrator out of whack.

Does anyone know how to uninstall it?

2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Mac OS X (10.5.6)

I imagine it would but that download is a dead link. I tried googling the software and couldn't get anything else...any other ideas?

Dang! Sorry, I didn't check the link in the page after finding that.

This is a page I went to when I set up an HP 1018 on an iMac. Download the Leopard version of Ghostscript. If I remember right, there's an uninstaller in the package. Can't look to check for sure right now as I'm in Windows.

How did you install it?

If you built it yourself, there is no 'make uninstall' target.

If you installed it using the prebuilt Mac OS X package from OpenPrinting, the Kurt is correct. There is an uninstaller included in the download.

EDIT: The uninstaller included with the OpenPrinting download will only work if you installed Ghostscript using the installer from OpenPrinting.

If you installed it from macports or fink, use the appropriate command from the help files.

I installed it through a .dmg file that I downloaded. I'm low on the tech food chain believe me.

I tried running the uninstaller but it had no effect on the issue (Adobe Illustrator) I am trying to resolve.

Perhaps you should describe the problem you are having. Also, check with Illustrator support to see if someone is having the same issues.

Sure...I start up Illustrator, but when I get to the opening window prompt (asking if I want to open an existing document, open a new document, start a new document from a template) and make my selection, the program immediately crashes.
