Photo book thumbnails not updating

Hi can anyone help please - I have put together a book over the last week and for some reason the thumbnail pages at the top are not updating to the correct images on the pages below. This isn't happening on all - just some.

Can anyone suggest what i can do please?

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the apple and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.

I'm not clear on the problem

the thumbnails do not change except to get a check mark on them as you place them

Are you saying that if you drag a photo from the thumbnails that a different photo appears on the book page?

Or are you saying that if you double click on a photo to edit it in the book the edits do not update the thumbnail?

Or is it something else - please describe as concisely and accurately as possible

The same happened to me. The pages looked fine, but the thumbnails did not, as they did not follow the changes on the page (i.e. remained in a previous state, did not update). I accidentally solved the problem by changing the background on the page. This made the thumbnail to update. I did that on 3 different, non-consequtive pages, and all worked. Maybe you can try that...

This is happening to me too, in a photo book originally in iPhoto 08. Changing any aspect of the page fixes it (moving, resizing, background). But, since I have 98 pictures in this photobook, it is a pain. I also found a command-z after a background change sometimes caused ALL thumbnails to turn white.

I also tried duplicating the photobook and changing the them to another theme and back solved the problem (except I lost my custom background choices). That might be an option for some. I did notice that one page near the end went from layout=3 to layout=1 and two pictures went away. Odd. Perhaps thats a different bug.

Just to be clear, my problem is with the page thumbnails not the photo thumbnails.

Just solved that for me too, but found you don't even have to change the background colour, just click again on the first option you had initially and the photo appears again, thanks all!
