Text Wrapping in iCal Month View?

How can I get event descriptions to wrap on the month view of my calender? Sometimes only one line of text appears and only the time of the event is visible, while in other events the text will wrap over to a second line and I can read the entire description. It’s frustrating to have to open the edit box to see what the event is!

In the month view, it's all down to the number of events you have on that day plus the size of the window/resolution of the screen.

If there's room, iCal will display all of an event's description, but if you shrink the window or add more events, the description will reduce in size- eventually into two columns - to give a chance of seeing all of them. Once there are more events than fit, you'll see an elipsis ( ... } at the top of the day. When this happens, you can only see ALL that day's events by going to week or day views.

You can potentially fit more in on the month view by turning-off the option to show the event time in month view in iCal Preferences.

Thanks for the reply. I understand what you are saying, but what I don’t understand is why on a day where I have no other events, the title won’t wrap to a second line when there is plenty of room. All I get is, “11:00 AM”. Other days that month with multiple entries wrap the text. I’m puzzled as to why the program is not consistent. Sometimes it wraps and sometimes it doesn’t, regardless of the available space on the calender.

Mine is pretty consistent in behaving as I described, so you might find that deleting ical's preferences and restarting the app might help you. Alternatively, you could try the less drastic route of deleting the problematic event and recreating it. It might be a hidden character that's causing the problem - so don't cut and paste the title, re-enter it.
