I was wondering something. I want to produce a text effect that will take a sentence and only use one light and sweep from left to right, instead of a light for each character of the sentence. Is this possible?
Macbook Pro - 2.4 ghz Core 2 Duo / 4 GB RAM / 1 TB LaCie HD,
Mac OS X (10.5.6),
Final Cut Studio 2
How about animating the Vignette generator in Final Cut Pro?
Make it circular or oval to simulate where your light is hitting the letters and keyframe the move. Letters outside the beam can be darker or invisible, depending how you set it up.
Or make the movement using the text as reference then use the text as a matte under the vignette move. Use the result to key a brighter spotlight over the darker text.
I'll try that. But will that give the same type of effect as the spotlight livetype font? Like I want the light to come from behind the letters. The effect I want is just like the end of this trailer for WoW: Lich King.
