"Bogon" on the network?

Occasionally on my sidebar, under "Shared", either "Bogon" or "All"/"Bogon" appears. It doesn't look like another user, get info shows its on the network, kind: neighborhood. I can't eject it like other shared drives/users.

there was a link to wiki about bogon and ip filtering but I'm not sure it's the same thing.

I have a closed/invisible airport network with WEP encryption.

Can anyone shed any light as to what this "bogon" is?

thanks

Thanks for the link... it's a bit complicated for me 😟
I don't do any "IP filtering"... at least not intentionally. I do use "Hot Shield" as a proxy and do log into a VPN occasionally; however, I have not noticed any connection between using proxy/VPN and when bogon shows up on my side panel.

Could there be some sort of script that runs occasionally?

thanks
