Older IPSW restore file (backward restore) from Apple nowhere to be found

I am trying to install a older version of the IPSW restore file for my iPod Touch 1G. I want to restore from 2.2.1 to 1.1.5. I cannot find the older files online at Apple so I looked elsewhere.

I tried downloading any of the iPod Touch 1G IPSW from these two sites:

http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/f127/22056.htm
http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/

But I get the following error after option-clicking Restore in iTunes and custom selecting the IPSW:

"The iPod "Name of iPod" could not be restored. An unkown error occured (20)."

And the iPod stays in disk mode until I reset it and reinstall the latest Apple IPSW version.

I did prevent Safari from extracting the so call ZIP masked as IPSW to keep the file intact for iTunes as recommended here: http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=19008

Where can I find legit IPSW file from Apple?

Is it possible to go back from 2.0 to 1.0 restore?

Tks!

20-inch iMac 2.4GHz (MB323LL/A), Mac OS X (10.5.3), PowerBook G4 Ti Ethernet
