want to straight my earphones wire

I bought my iPod in July.
I've seen many other people iPods, and I'm wondering how come their earphones wire is straight but mine is not.
How do I straight my earphones wire?

Do you bunch them up in your pocket or anything when you're not using them?

Maybe just letting them hang from a doorknob (NOT while attached to the iPod) will let them straighten naturally. You don't want to apply any pressure, just let the weight of the phones do it . . .
