If you have enabled Time Machine and don't plug in your backup drive after a certain amount of time, OS X starts nagging you to do it. This can get tedious on a notebook when you're on the road and can't back up.

Is there a way to disable the nagging?

have you tried turning TM off in TM system preferences?

I don't want to disable Time Machine itself. That would mean I'd have to remember to turn it back on when I got home. Just don't want the nags.

yes, you would. that doesn't strike me as too onerous. I don't think there is any other way to turn off that warning.

If you do not want the "nags" to keep appearing you are going to have to turn it off and then yes remember to turn it on when you get back home. Personally if I was out on the road and not backing up first thing I would do when I got home would be to connect the external disk and turn it back on but like i said thats personally
