How to disable Time Machine 'you haven't backed up in a while' nags?

If you have enabled Time Machine and don't plug in your backup drive after a certain amount of time, OS X starts nagging you to do it. This can get tedious on a notebook when you're on the road and can't back up.

Is there a way to disable the nagging?

If you do not want the "nags" to keep appearing you are going to have to turn it off and then yes remember to turn it on when you get back home. Personally if I was out on the road and not backing up first thing I would do when I got home would be to connect the external disk and turn it back on but like i said thats personally
