Re-download music?

I accidentally deleted my purchased music off my computer, and now i can't get them back. I tried going into iTunes and re-download it, but it is making me pay for it again. Is there any way to download it again without having to pay for it all over again?

Thanks.

Where is your back up? You should always maintain a back up of music/pics/info.

Sorry. It is your responsibility to keep up with your music.

From itunes store terms of service:

" PRODUCTS CAN ONLY BE DOWNLOADED ONCE; AFTER BEING DOWNLOADED, THEY CANNOT BE REPLACED IF LOST FOR ANY REASON. YOU SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR BACKING UP YOUR OWN SYSTEM"

i had something similar happen - i had lost some of my purchased music from the iTunes store. i contacted Apple Support and told them the order numbers of the purchased songs that i had lost (found in the recipts of my purchases). they let me download the songs again, like i had already bought them.

or, the probably easier way, is that if the purchased songs are still on your iPod, u can go to "File > Transfer Purchases from iPod" and it'll get u the purchased songs from ur ipod into iTunes.

I do have a backup, but they are on my friends computer that just broke and now it will not charge. I did have them on my ipod, but i just sold it to a friend and restored it for him. I think that is not very fair..what if someone was running dangerously low on memory in their computer? They would have to start deleting stuff...and they just happen to start deleting some music that was on their harddrive, and oops, i deleted my purchased songs. Having only this one copy of music, and no other possible way to get their music back unless they spend money on it, again. Apple just dropped down further in my list of good customer service. I do appreciate the responses from you, thanks. But i don't think i will be getting another iPod anytime soon. Unless i can find an iPod Touch for outrageously cheap.

I have a worse situation. I have iTunes setup on two computers. one a old G4-500 desktop.

and a PowerBook 17". Problem is I had to replace Hard drive that went bad and Have no tunes whatsoever in iTunes for that new Hard Drive. Then Last week my powerbook 17" which all of my iTunes items including recent purchases because it has a CD/DVD burner installed It literally went up in smoke. or at least you could cook an egg over well done on the bottom. Its in the shop and Its either Hard Drive or Logic board.

Right now I am rooting for logic board. if it didn't affect the Hard Drive then I can get my itunes, iphoto collection back as it stands now. I can't.

Re-download music?
