sqlite upgrade
Hi! My Mac has sqlite 3.4.0 installed, and I'd like to upgrade to the latest version: how can I do?
iMac intel core 2 duo 2.4 GHz, Mac OS X (10.5.6), 4 Gb ram

No, I run Leopard. I don't need to install, only upgrade, and make sure it'll be used than (no double installations). I could use macports, but I think it would install another copy of sqlite, wouldn't it?
Where did you find the "upgrade" to SQLite? Perhaps that site would explain how to upgrade the software.
If you want to install the 3.6.11 upgrade there is a plain text Install within.

Where? I didn't see the instructions in the official site. Nor I can be sure of how to do it without damaging the OS, since sqlite is used by the system.
Maybe I'm giung to install another copy with MacPorts and use that..

Sorry,I was looking at the Source Code-sqlite-amalgamation-3.6.11.tar.gz.
Looking at the version histories
http://www.sqlite.org/cvstrac/rlog?f=sqlite/VERSION
there looks to be two major updates 3.4.2 to 3.5.0 and 3.5.0 to 3.6.0, all the rest seem to be mostly bug fixes,
If you are concerned that installing these upgrades will install completely new data bases next to the older ones, maybe try setting up another volume to observe and test the new upgraded versions out before running them on your main volume.
