Smart Mailboxes on iPhone

Smart Mailboxes on iPhone

Ok, I know my mail has to be setup for IMAP. I have that option setup on my gmail acct. I just setup some smart mailboxes and they cannot sync to my iphone.

Can i have smart mailboxes setup on iPhone or am I completely off. It looks like there is space for such folders for the mail client program.

No - you can't create any mailboxes with the iPhone's mail client, smart or otherwise.

Only server stored mailboxes with an IMAP or Exchange account will be available with the iPhone's mail client. It isn't possible for mailboxes stored locally on your computer's hard drive to be available with the iPhone's mail client, and smart mailboxes with the Mail.app on your Mac are stored locally locally on your computer's hard drive only.

Just as you wouldn't be able to access smart mailboxes created with the Mail.app on one Mac with the Mail.app on another, or with the email client on another computer.
