Okay, this is weird. Right after I posted in here, I went and searched for some videos. They played. A few in "featured" played. Most of them didn't.

That was about an hour ago. I just went back, the videos that played an hour ago in "featured" aren't playing now. ??? What is going on?!
Right after I got the phone yesterday everything was playing and I have some vids bookmarked. I know they played, but by last night--they wouldn't play and still don't. I get that same dreaded message!

Still not working for me.....hasn't worked all day. I have tried using Wifi, and 3G..same result.
By the way Jason..I tried turning airplane mode on/off....but still no use. Also I am able to go to the Youtube page via Safari and can watch videos like that...it's just on the Youtube app apparently.

Is the problem with ALL YouTube content or just some? if it's just some . . .

Apparently, the YouTube viewer on the iPhone relies upon video content coded in H.264. YouTube has converted some large percentage of its content to that format, but some content still remains that isn't properly formatted. Hence, you will run into an error message occasionally while trying to view YouTube content on an iPhone. See, for example:

The thing is that (at least in my case) I am having this issue with videos that used to play normally every day up until today. So it's not like these are new videos I am trying to see. These are videos I've seen over and over before (eg. favorite songs i play on a daily basis, etc..) so technically they were already in that format.
As far as percentage, again for me it's about 95% of the videos I try give me that error. I've tried playing the most popular ones etc... before today I used to be able to see all videos I picked, never saw this error before.
