Legacy instrument content question

Question

Legacy instrument content question

I was wondering about the legacy contents, I thought I'd checked all the boxes before installing Logic Studio but are there a few instruments that do not have legacy content such as the EVP88 or have I missed out on that. I count 16 presets for the EVP88 from Bright Suitcase to Wurlitzer 240V. Are there any legacy presets for this?

16? I have about 40 factory preset plugin settings for the EVP88...

(not counting channel strip presets etc)

Really! hmm, well I guess I'll try reinstalling the whole software again. I don't suppose if you know if I reinstall the logic studio disks, will it duplicate or overwrite existing content on my harddrive?

Does anyone else know how many default settings there are for the EVP88 in logic studio if you've installed the legacy stuff. I've tried to use pacifist as I don't want to install logic studio from scratch again and still can only find 16 settings for the EVP88 (not including the channel strips

There are known issues with the installer but a complete re-install shouldn't be necessary.

Thanks for your replies, but I am really stumped.

Beejay, do you still have the contents this link http://bj.angeltowns.com/files/logic/logiccontentlisting.txt.zip you posted it ages ago, but I cannot open the page.

This is driving me insane, as I'm sure there were more before I reformatted my drives and I've does a full fresh install... weird stuff

I haven't actually counted my default settings but I know I have a lot more than 16. Just out of curiousity when you installed Logic 8 did you check the Logic 7 content box before installing? (It's been a while since I installed L8 but I do remember that I failed to install the Logic 7 content and wound up missing a lot of legacy stuff and had to reinstall. The default install setting has the Logic 7 content box unchecked. So if you didn't check it you may be missing many of the default settings simply because they were originally Logic 7 settings. Just a thought.

Yes I definately checked the leacy box and there are plenty of legacy settings for other plugins just none for the EVP88. I've used Pacifist to scout through the Logic instillation disks but can't find any thing missing. It's so bizzarre and really bugging me

According to my list of files on the installers, the Legacy Content installer contains no EVP88 plugin settings at all (although there are some for the ES1, ES2, EVB3 and EVD6).

Basically, the extras are from LP7, and many have been renamed for LP8, so there are duplicates there (some of the presets were changed/reorganised/removed for LP8.

So I wouldn't worry about it, you have the right content, and installing the LP7 stuff doesn't get you much extra, really. Sorry if I pointed you i the wrong direction...
