Using ADAT Optical Interface

I am trying 2 add additional tracks via Optical Converter and have no idea how to get started. I am running:

Mac OS X 10.4.11
Logic Express 7
MOTU 8pre FireWire audio interface
Behringer Ultragain PRO-8 Digital ADA8000

I have the Firewire MOTU up and running, can record my 8 tracks...
but now i would like to have 16 tracks using the Behringer...

Can anyone here help me get started in enabling the Behringer ADAT? Getting the inputs set-up?

If this is the wrong Forum for this or even wrong site, could someone lead me in the right direction? I realize this a newbie question.

Thank you in advance!

Perhaps someone else will be more familiar than I with the equipment you're using, but just to get the ball rolling (since no-one else has pitched in yet)…

Is the problem that you don't know how to enable 16 tracks?

+"If you are using the native engine, you can limit the number of tracks via the+
Audio > Audio Driver > Max. Number of Audio tracks
+setting for the individual driver/hardware, thereby limiting the amount of memory and processing power required."+

IOW, first check there & make sure it isn't set to prevent you having enough tracks. It should be set to a sensible number, but if not, that could be limiting you. (You can disable this setting, but I doubt that will be necessary.)

I can't really help further, since it sounds like it's this particular piece of equipment you need help with; but I did a quick search for 'Behringer' & got 46 hits, so perhaps someone has already dealt with this issue. It might be worth posting in the Logic 8 Forum as well, to increase your chances of finding an expert!
