Finding the trend line on Numbers

In Numbers, entering Help > Numbers User Guide and asking for the intricate keyword "trend" returns one entry in the TOC:

147 Showing Trendlines in Charts

opening page 147 we may read:


I must add that we may get exactly the same info (minus the picture) searching for the same infamous keyword in the Help.


So I'm always wondering why such a question appears on this forum 😉
And I'm afraid when I think that beings unable to use this kind of tools by themselves are allowed to vote for a President.

Thank you for the sarcastic, yet surprisingly unhelpful response. When I click on "Numbers User Guide" in the help menu, I get a "Looking for Something?" page. Furthermore, trying to follow the directions you posted, there is no "Advanced..." button in the series pane when I have a scatter plot selected, or any other time that I have noticed. Is this some sort of problem with the trial version? If so, then it is not a very effective sales tool.

You are describing the behavior of Numbers '08 😉

If you ask about Numbers'08 in a forum dedicated to Numbers'09, it's not surprising that the given response doesn't fit your needs.

I feel that I must stop because I would really become sarcastic.
