I cant seem to purchase anything from itunes, it just tells me that my payment method has been declined. I have tried for a few days now and have used the cards to buy other things and take cash from ATMs so i know they work. I have tried the debit card that has always worked up until last week and i have tried my credit card. Both cards have plenty of cash on them.

I have put in all my info about 10 times, i selected 'none' and then put the details in when requested and still get the same message. I have the latest version of iTunes.

I did use a £15 voucher which still has 78p on it and the problems seem to have started since then, i dont know if there is a connection of if thats just coincidence.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I'm having the exact same problem.

I also had a £15 itunes voucher that has 0.78p left on it and since then I'm unable to purchase anything.

When I check my payment details the only thing missing is the 3 digit security pin from the back of the card.

    Re-entering this doesn't help.

Trying a different card hasn't worked.

I've left it over a week and nothing has changed.

Only thing I can suggest is to start a new account but that involves setting up a new email account - too much of a ballache.

Let me know if you find a solution.

    Another thought.

If we only have 0.78p left on a gift card then any attempt to buy a single song means that itunes will try to take a payment of 0.01p from your account.

I'm guessing your card won't allow you to make a one penny purchase on it and this is why it's falling over.

Maybe if you try to buy an album instead of a single you will be able to make the purchase.

Anyway, I've submitted the query to itunes help and we'll see what they have to say.

    Success.

Just successfully bought an EP for £3.95.

Your card won't allow you to make a payment of just 0.01p.

Kind of makes the gift card idea a poor choice, particularly if you use it to buy a bunch of individual songs.

You are a Star, sorted, bought an Album instead of trying to get a single. Looks like iTunes needs to look at this one.

    Thanks again

They say they are seeing the requests but apple are not taking them!

Update your account info here: https://myinfo.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyInfo.woa

    Then, try again.

Well get this then. I can purchase tunes on the istore, download and pay for them, but when I tried to buy a gift voucher for my brother I got the same error as you all. Tried it with credit and debit card - no good. So that's really handy then. Amazon got my business instead.

I just talked to support about this (after going to a couple of different people)... I'm told that the reason for this is that some account (for no particular reason I'm told) have some features blocked to help prevent fraud on them. I was informed that my account should be fine within 24hrs as it takes time for the updates to flow through their systems.

    Hopefully this resolves my issues.
