Anyone have any fav's that I should look into for my Keynote 09 Presetations? I know some have the Iphone App, which I could get, but I was thinking of a remote control that that would do the basic functions, and do them well without allot of "Wi-Fi" needed.
this is an old review, but yes, it works, or at least the version I had at the time worked. I also know as recent as about 6 months ago the Gideon's of Canada bought a bunch for their presenters, and they all use Keynote. Still, I can't guarantee that it'll work.
Disclaimer: I sell stuff and make money off the Keynoteuser.com site, but the articles are free 🙂
I'd recommend the Kensington Si600 Wireless Presenter with Laser Pointer (Kensington 33374 in the US) which works perfectly with Macs for Keynote or PowerPoint. It doesn't need complex setting up. Another good point is that its USB terminal plugs neatly into its handle, and disables the laser when it's in place. I find the shape comfortable too.
I actually looked at a "Apple Remote" today at the Apple Store, but for some reason even the Senior Genius couldn't get it to function or "Click" with Keynote, so I opted to wait and look around some more...
I have Keyspan and it worked well with Keynote 4, but it does not work at all with Keynote 5.01. I have had to go back to using Keynote 4 for all my presentations and classes. Anyone else have this problem?
The Apple remote doesn't work well if the light path to the IR sensor on the computer is blocked. In 3 of the last 3 talks I've given, various "features" of the lectern managed to block the IR sensor from where I wanted to stand, and the Apple Remote didn't work reliably. So I'm going to try an RF remote.
