iPhone headphones are very quiet, sound quality is bad

This is very recent. I know the headphones still work because they work in my laptop. I've tried taking off maximum volume and I set the volume to the highest, but it still won't work. I'm worried that the headphone jack is busted. Any ideas?

iPhone 3G 8gig, Mac OS X (10.5.6)

If your headphones or earbuds work without issue when connected to your laptop, more than likely there isn't a problem with your earbuds.

I suggest giving AppleCare a call at (800) 694-7466, or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.
