Quicktime Will Not Load?

I have the latest Quicktime player, I have windows vista ultimate. When I click on the quicktime player on my desktop, the player just says loading and just stays like that??.. I wait,wait and wait, but nothing happens??
Can someone please help me.

QuickTime Player preferences
Turn off (uncheck) the "Show Content Guide".

Thanks QuickTimeKirk, well that worked.. but I want to see the content??, why doesn't it start up?..I am using vista 32 bit.

The content guide that loads in the Player is just a Web page:
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/guide/
Don't know why your machine gives it trouble from loading.
