I have a MacBook I bought in October 2008 along with a Canon MX310 Printer. I set them both up with my time machine and everything worked great for a couple of months. I started having problems printing and talked to apple support. We deleted the printer in system preferences - turned off the time machine and set up the printer again in system preferences. Everything worked fine but now I can't print and the printer is not being detected. I re-installed the Canon printer driver and repeated the steps above several times but still don't see the printer on the network. Any ideas on how to resolve this? Thanks
I have exactly the same problem - printer worked fine now it wont find it if plugged into my time machine - works from laptop directly so what is going one? Is my time machine failing?
By "time machine", I assume you mean Time Capsule (which Time Machine program can use 😉 )
I also had difficulty printing to my Canon MX310 printer via Time Capsule this evening. When adding the printer in the System Preferences/Printers panel, (2) printers on Bonjour were displayed:
canon mx310 series fax
canon mx310 series fax - 1
If you see a listing similar to what's above, try selecting the second choice, then you will be able to select "Canon IJ" printer driver.. and it should all work. I hope this helped.
