Copying Photos into Microsoft Word

Is there a simple way to copy photos from iPhoto into Word. When I try to Drag and Drop, the photo just "pops" back to the iPhoto screen. I tried copying a photo to the desktop, and then dragging it into a Word doc, but that just "popped" back to the desktop also.

I guess I'll "reply" to myself, since no one else did. (I posted Aug 19th) Do I have to pay $99 to get ANY help from Apple. (Does sarcasm help?) Maybe I've been blackballed because I'm a PC guy that "switched" and hasn't drank the "Kool-Aid" yet. What Drug Store do I go to so I can get the some "machead" drugs, so I can be "Happy" and LOVE APPLE, like my "MAC-Friends."

Maybe this "Discussion Forum" is also un-user friendly, and I can't figure out how to view the "hundreds of loving replys" I've received???

Thanks, Tim

It seems to make sense that the problem is with word and the photo format, I've found a workaround: Edit the picture in iPhoto, a simple crop of the entire image will do, then close the editor and presto: You can drag and drop the image into Word. However, I'm getting tired of this work-around so I'd like to get to the root cause....I'll Google some more on Word I guess.

Tim:

What version of Word are you using? I'm using Word: mac v.x and when I drag a photo from the the organize window of iPhoto to where I have my cursor in Word it imports without issue. The photo expands to the margins of the document but you can click on it and drag to dynamically resize accordingly.

You might want to close all applications and then launch Disk Utility and repair disk permissions.

If all of that doesn't help you may have to use the method that Peter recommended, either drag from the desktop or use Word's import graphic menu option.

And sarcasm will not get you many more posts either. A simple bump of the post with another "help" will suffice. If you recently switched from the darkside than your Apple Care will still be in effect and there won't be a $99 charge.
