Currently Being ModeratedMar 28, 2009 1:34 PM (in response to RonaldF)I had a similar problem with my external drive suddenly changing it`s name. Let`s say it was "XYZ" - it became "XYZ 1".
Eventually tracked the problem down to a folder called "XYZ" that had somehow appeared in the "\Volumes" folder (Finder | Go | Go to folder | \Volumes)
Ejected drive, deleted this folder (having first checked nothing in it!) and re-connected drive.
All is now wellPowerbook G4 17", Mac OS X (10.5.1), iPhone
