Nano (2nd generation) won't connect to iTunes. Help?

ive had my iPod for about 2 years now and ive never had a problem. Now when i tried to synch it, it will charge through the computer but it wont connect to iTunes. ive tried the ways on the support site but it did not help.

I just had the same problem that started a few weeks ago. I just fixed it this morning. ( I'm using Windows XPSP2). I went to Start, in the Run box, typed in msconfig, went to the StartUp tab, and looked for ITunes Helper. The box somehow became unchecked, don't know why or how. Rechecked it, restarted computer, and it now automatically connects to Itunes. Hope this helps you.
