Folders for Templates?

I don't quite understand Rounik... As I said, I have created folders in the directory you mention. And they don't show up in the template menu when you create a new project.

What do you mean by "drag your template folders into the desired folder" ? Isn't the only place Logic looks for templates in the user/~/~/project templates directory?

What's the use of having templates that don't show up when you select "New Project" ?

should read "drag your templates into the desired template folders you have created".

Are you running L8.0.2?
Are you trying this process when Logic is running?

Hm. Very curious - thanks for clarifying.

It doesn't work for me at all. I'm using 8.02 and I wouldn't dare move Logic's template files around while the program's running. But when I restart Logic, it simply shows the templates that aren't in a folder. The folders, and there contents, are nowhere to be seen.

Your actually show up in the panel when you select "New Project" ?

Maybe I'm missing something... Better retrace my steps.

It turns out that I had created my new templates folder in the "Song Templates" folder, not the "Project Templates" folder. Once I put them in Project Templates, they showed up just fine. Phew!

So now the only question remaining is, "How come I had a folder called "Song Templates" which already seemed to contain many user templates I've used in the past? My guess is that perhaps this is something that changed in the shift from Logic 7 to Logic 8? Perhaps L7 used the "Song Templates" directory, and L8 decided to switch it to "Project Templates". Who can say why...
