Welcome to Discussions, -Luke
I agree with Ralph. You can
enable or disable the 3 second countdown in Photo Booth, but you cannot otherwise adjust it. Photo Booth, a rather basic app that allows few adjustments, won't do what you want. Moreover, Photo Booth is not scriptable, so you cannot control it with AppleScript.
If you cannot find some
application other than Photo Booth that will do what you want, you may be able to use
Apple Script &/or Automator with a different application (
QuickTime Pro,
iChat,
etc.) to do something like what you want.
You may be able to use
Automator's "
Take Picture" or "
Take Video Snapshot" process to automate a workflow that will meet your needs.
If not, and if
the help file linked here does not give you some ideas, check out the two threads listed below to see if they might give you an idea for a starting point.

Some of the ideas there might give you a useful idea.
When you have identified an application or approach you want to use, seek more specific help in
AppleScript,
Automator, or
the relevant Application Discussions Forum.
When you have a solution, please post it back here if you are willing to share it with others who might want an answer to the same or a similar question.
Cheers,
EZ Jim
