Apple in-ear headphones repair service

My Apple in-ear headphones are starting to make a crackling noise during mostly the lower frequencies. I've bought the headphones at Apple's online store, and I still have the receipt and the original box. I want my headphones repaired or replaced so I tried Apple's online repair service, the problem is they are asking for a serial number, which I can't find anywhere. Does anyone here know what I should do? I live in the Netherlands so there aren't any official Apple stores where I can go to either (only authorized retailers).

My left speaker wont play music any more.. Ive tried doing it online with no success. I paid good moehny for these headphones and now they are unusable. I took it to the store and was told do everything online but that doesnt work as well as it should. The new headphones arent listed in the services form where they should be. Someone with experience please give me some advice I love these headphones!!!

Mine is exactly 2 months old, and as of today none of the so-called "remote" controls on the wire function correctly. The volume switch is entirely inoperable. Songs skip on their own, and the microphone does not work at all now. I tried it out with the QuickVoice Recorder application (purchased via the iTunes store) and now it only produces a scratching sound with no voice recording.

I intend to return it tomorrow to the Apple Store, but with the other poor reports, I am not sure this device is even worth replacing.

Is there any other head-set with a microphone - so that I can use Truphone for the iPod touch to make phone calls, and make voice recordings - that others can recommend for use with the iPod touch?

Thanks,
John

I'm new, so I don't know how to start a new topic. Anyway, does anyone know how Apple's Online Service Assistant works if you are getting a defective product replaced? Is the "non-return penalty fee" charged to your credit card after 10 days or is it refunded when received or what? And how do you ship a defective item back to Apple? Can you just ship it through Standard Mail, or does Apple send you some sort of return kit, or what? Do you have to pay ANYTHING at all if you return the defective item to Apple within 10 days? And is it 10 days after Apple ships the replacement, or 10 days after you place the order?

If your accessory is less than 6 months old they pay for it shipping. If you are referring to headphones they will send you a new set and you will use the box they came in and the return label to ship yours back, works the same way usually for iPods.

As I said, call them and ask all your questions. Or is there a reason you can't call them?

i cant use my ipod serial since its too old, so i need the serial of the earphones but i cant find it, I've Google it so far no luck, tomorrow i'll go to a retail store but i got them online, and by the way don't want to sound rude, but dude what part of: they send you a box for you to send back the bad earphones you don't get?....i'm surprised cause i'm used to apple's stuff to do the job they promise but so far i'm very disappointed at this new earphones with mic and apparently im not the only one.
