HD output

Can I add a second monitor to display HD for editing FCP on my iMac? How do I get an HD video signal to an HD monitor? Or can't it be done on an iMac?

iMac 2.8GHZ INTEL CORE 2 EXTREME, Mac OS X (10.5.2), 4GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM
