I am giving your method a try. Clearly, it generates a gray-scale PDF, but it is not obvious how this would change the postscript file. For example, a B&W PSD file is much smaller than an analogous RGB file, but I see little difference in .PS files whether or not I do the Quartz conversion. I would have expected a bigger difference, based on the photoshop result. I will report back on the results after I hear from our printer. One additional question: does Pages 09 offer any different method, eg, the ability to create a gray-scale document from the get-go?
