Purging deleted Audio Units from AU Manager ???

I am not one to run here for answers easily found in my manual. For the life of me I can't get rid of old erroneous AU entries after their removal (including after removing them from the Components, and VST folders i.e., Mac HD > Library > Audio > plug-ins). These are AU's like; all of the NI Komplete instruments (sold it and removed it to not be a software theif), trial plug-ins from Rob Paben, Arturia, peavey, freebie like Sampletank and others.

How can I purge these now erroneous entries from the Audio Units Manager breakdown??? I find no way to purge and scan fresh. Getting very cluttered.

Does Logic have an additional plug-in history cache for AU's beyond the location listed above that may require removal as well????

This is what I got:

Ok - Guitar Rig 3, and the Automap client.

Just a hunch - what happens when you remove the AUAutomapClient.component and restart Logic?

I've a feeling the way the automap thing works is to modify your plugins to be able to control them, so it may be that that's reporting the modified plugs to Logic, even though the original unmodified ones have been deleted.

This is non-standard, but as I said, if you'd followed my advice (check that the plugin directories are empty (which doesn't mean, "yeah, there still a few knocking around in there but let's kind of ignore those") we might have got to the bottom of this sooner... 😉

Let me know what happens...

And what are the words that every man loves to hear?......

You Were RIGHT!

Case Solved.

The second you wrote automap - I new it was the Colbert. Yes Automap makes a mirror of each plug-in. I now need to get automap purged of the old files and it will remain clean from there forward.

This will most likely raise it's head again here on the board as many are using the Novation product. To me, I am glad that it did take the extra time to solve, otherwise the actual cause of the issue would not now be known as an orphan of Novation's Automap product. Hopefully this will help others in the future.

THANK YOU MR. BEE JAY - A ROUND OF APPLAUSE IS IN ORDER.

Wow, this is so addicting!

Now, I add a trumpet with a alarming tritonus: Taa-tii-tatitatitatiiiiiii

And, after that, of course, a onswelling sequence of minor thirds rising out of the dark violins to the highest Church Organ Tutti. (who knows Bach's toccatas know what i mean)

STOP!

Heartbeat Drum - BOO BOOM .... BOO BOOM ... BOO BOMM

who's next?
