Does new Mac Mini support dual display?

I noticed there are 2 display connectors, one is mini DVI and the other one is Mini DisplayPort.
So I want to know does the new Mac Mini support dual displays? Either use one DVI and one DP, or use mini DisplayPort to Dual DVI adaptor.

Regards.

I just had my mini up running 2 monitors - both at 1920x1200. One with the mini-DVI to DVI adapter and the other with the mini-DisplayPort to VGA adapter.

The monitor hooked up to the mini-DisplayPort adapter would go black for a few seconds every once in a while. I didn't trouble shoot it...it would come back up a few seconds later...but it was only that one (which was not the main desktop). I don't know what the settings were (switched back to the Mac Pro to get some work done and needed the monitors back) so not sure if it was a real problem or just a loose connection/bad setting.

I did run some full screen HD video with Quicktime. Seemed to do pretty well. It was some H.264 video from the new Canon 5D camera. It was playing out full screen like I said (1920x1080 video) and the fps read between 28-30. It looked smooth, but it wasn't the most action-packed piece of video.

Both of my Optiquest Q241wb monitors were running at their native 1900x1200 resolution from the mini. One was DVI the other was a VGA connection.

It didn't default to that, but once I set them up everything worked as expected...(aside from that black flashing issue which I haven't had a chance to trouble shoot yet). I'm going to also grab the mini-DP to DVI connector this afternoon so I'll see if that makes a difference.

Hi Jason,

im considering a mini for my work - do a lot of DTP, inDesign and Photoshop. Your post was some what helpful, as we currently have two CRT 19" one DVI and one VGA which i would like to use if we buy the 09 mini's. Were you able to extend your desktop across both the VGA and DVI monitors? What kind of monitor was the VGA? How often was the black screen happening?
Hope you can help, thanks.

Snoop,

Both the monitors were the same Q241wb. One went in DVI and the other was vga...the monitors have both inputs.

It acted just like the dual monitor set up I have on my MacPro right now. The desktop stretched across both monitors. It was actually weird when I hooked them up at first the left monitor was actually the right one to the computer. Once I moved them around and set the resolutions in System preferences all was well.

I won't have a chance to trouble shoot that vga connection issue until next week, going out of town tomorrow morning. It could have been as simple as a sleep setting or a not locked in connection - I set it up quickly and needed to be able to break it down as quickly as well. I'll try to duplicate it Monday or so and report back to you.
