Changing pixel size of photo

Look at the top menu bar in iPhoto. Select Help >iPhoto Help. Type the word "exporting" into the little search window. Follow the directions to get a resized copy on your desktop. Attach the file to your e-mail.

From the iPhoto menu bar go Share>Export>>File export. There you will see the option "Scale image no larger than..."
Make any other changes/choices that you want in that window (file name, image format, etc.)
Click export. Save the exported image to anywhere you want

the iPhoto Library Folder. The desktop is a good place to save it to.
After you email it and don't need it anymore you can delete it because it is only a copy.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. If you're using an email application that iPhoto supports just select the photo and click on the Mail button at the bottom of the window. You'll be given 4 size options. You can set the email application to use from iPhoto's preferences.
