WLAN won't connect with FritzBox! 7120

Well, the WLAN connection of my MacMini was alway lousy but since the 10.5.6 update it won't even connect. The network is found but it doesn't connect to ist saying "timeout" or "wrong password".

Actions taken so far:
-complete new setup of macmini
-latest updates for both (macmini and fritzbox)
-SSID is shown
-tried without WAP2, just with MAC-Filter => no success
-changed channels no success

Any other ideas? The problem slowly but surely ****** me off. And there is no solution by Apple so far.

Mac Mini, Mac OS X (10.5.6), 2GB RAM

Im having similar issues with one of my MacBooks connecting to a Airport extreme.

Workaround for me has been to remove /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration and restart, configure the network settings again.

Thx for the tip but unfortunately it wasn't succesful! What I am wondering about, why does it say "incorrect password" when I use the Network-assistant? I know that it is correct (Win works just fine with it.) I use a 63 character WAP2-password!

If the network and/or password was created on a Windows machine you might have to use a prefix in
front of the password, like this:

0x[password]
$[password]
"[password]"

Change the password to a ASCII value. Do not use Hex. I would try to setup a 8-16 character ASCII password (use the webinterface of the Fritz!Box). This should work as I never had problems connecting Macs to Fritz!Boxes.

Now you got me interested. How can I be sure not to use a Hex-password? If I choose WPA through the fritz!box interface I am unable to make any further selections. I can just type in my password I want.

Change it to a 60 character password. I've seen cases where 63 character passwords failed, but shorter ones worked fine in the very same circumstances.

Well, I tried several lengths. 8, 12 etc. and nonen worked. I even cannot connect when I don't use a WAP key.
