reflecta scanner

Has anyone used the reflecta digital scanner to transfer colour slides to a Mac?

It looks a neat way of avoiding having to remove all your slides from storage magazines one by one.
But does it work?

I don't know anything about that scanner but it's pretty pricey for a one trick pony. I bought a Polaroid Sprintscan slide scanner to scan my 5000 slides and now have a nice door stop. Unless you're going to be doing many more on a continuing basis, when you're done it won't be of much use any more. I'd look for an option where you will have a useable tool for other purposes after you're done with your transparencies. There are some flat bed scanners that can handle transparencies in batches and have software that can separate out each slide in that one scan into individual files.
