"Cannot load OS X on this computer"

I have an Intel MacBook which originally ran Tiger. I upgraded to Leopard and ran this successfully for about 6 months. I recently had a severe problem with the OS, and the only way out was to 'Erase and Install'. This was achieved successfully by re-installing Tiger 10.4.11. I have run this now for a couple of weeks with some minor problems - iCal will not sync, one of the folders on my iDisk will not sync, but it is now convenient to re-install Leopard.

The installation starts to run OK, the MacBook restarts from the installation disk but then a message appears telling me "Mac OS X cannot be installed on this computer".

Can anybody help me?

what kind of leopard disk are you using? this message is typical when you try to use the install disks that came with a different computer. that will not work as they are hardware specific. you need to use the retail version of leopard.

Thanks - it's always obvious when you know the answer. I inadvertently mixed the disks and now all is fine except for an iCal issue which will neither sync nor is it always available on me.com. I can't fix that; I'll ask about that one on the relevant forum.
