My Blackberry takes .3gp videos, and I can view them in Apple QuickTime. I can also view them in iTunes. I cannot, however, load them onto my iPod Touch (2nd Gen). It says that the video format is not supported. What do I need to view these videos on my iPod?
Try right clicking on the video. If there is a menu option to Convert to iPod format, click that and let iTunes convert it for you. If you don't have an option like that, time to Google.
Thanks luvlabs!!!!! I did as you suggested, and the videos had the choice of "create Apple TV Version"...I appreciate the help...this solved the problem.
Oops...I spoke too soon. The conversion turned the .3gpp format into the .mv4 format...which the iPod touch does not recognize...I guess I will wait for an update to the software so that it will play these formats.
If you right click on the file, the only choice is to covert to Apple TV format. If you go to the 'Advanced' menu in iTunes, however, it gives the choice to create an iPod or iPhone version. I tried this and successfully loaded the videos to my iPod (with a much bigger screen and better video than my Blackberry). Thanks again luvlabs!!! You pointed me in the right direction. This converted the files into an m4v format again, but one that is viewable on the iPod Touch.
