Connect to internet

I configured a local network after installing Time Capsule. Each time I start my computer I am not connected and must open Safari, go through the diagnosis process and finally it will connect. There must be a way to configure a default settiing so that when a boot up, IMAC goes directly to my network and connects me. All comments/assistance are appreciated. Thanks!

First, open up system preferences and select Network (3rd row), then select AirPort, then click the Advanced button (bottom right), and make sure your TC network is in the preferred network list.

Thanks for the reply. Did all you mentioned but the problem is not solved. My MAC tells me that Time Capsule is connected to my preferred network. Could my problem be in Safari......any ideas???
