HP Officejet Pro L7600 All-in-One Printer

Hello,

When I connect my HP Officejet Pro L7600 All-in-One Printer using USB to my Macbook, the screen turns darker (it turns dark from top to bottom, it slides and changes) and it tells me that I must restart my computer and I can't move my mouse or anything, but push on the power button and turn it back on. So I did, I kept the USB connected, and while Macbook turning, same thing happened but it was even before the OS turned on. So unplugged the connected USB and my OS turned on, so I thought that maybe I need to install the drivers first...So I got the drivers from HP website for HP Officejet Pro L7600 All-in-One Printer, I installed them and it told me to plug in the USB, so I have, and the screen got dark and it forced me to restart my computer.

How can I install my HP Officejet Pro L7600 All-in-One Printer with no problems?

MacBook Pro 17, Mac OS X (10.5.6), 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB DDR2, 160GB HD

If the printer has an ethernet port, try using it instead of USB printing. Usually faster and more stable. We have an HP 6280 AIO wired via ethernet directly to our Airport Extreme base station. It is printing for three wired Macs and two wireless. Rock-solid, even on the G4 MDD which has a tendency to exhibit sleep problems with some USB devices.

A standard cat5 patch cable should be all you need. You may need to change the connectivity settings in the Printer System Preferences, but I suspect your OS will recognize the printer immediately.

If your computer has an ethernet port, it may be fitted with a yellow plastic shipping protector that will need to be removed to expose the port.
