Limit size of Sparsebundle on Time Capsule

I have read this topic
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1635356

But the command " sudo hdiutil -size 250g " ...doesn't work ?

I successfully compact my sparsebundle after earasing old backup folder in the time machine by the "gears" button... but I want to attribute to my backup on Time Capsule a maximum of 250G and leave the rest (another 250G) as personal external hard drive storage, like movies. I read that It was impossible to do partition of my Time Capsule via disk utility. So I found this topic, but can't make it to the end.

Can you help ?
Thanks

What I do, to make it easy, is just look at the size of the backup every now and then. Once it gets over a certain size, I move it to a folder called "Old Backups" and start a new one. When the new one gets to the certain size, I move it into the "Old Backups" replacing the previous version. This makes sure I keep my backups limited so I have space for other items.

Hi,

just being trying to sort the same thing out myself and found from another website that the command to change the size is actually: "sudo hdiutil resize -size 250g" I don't know if you still need to know though thought I would post the answer for other readers as well.

I have tried this on my Macbook sparsebundle though until it reaches the new set size I am unsure if it has actually worked! I will keep you updated lol.

Cheers
