Submit to CDDB

I've created my first album, and I'm looking to start submitting it to online radio stations. One site asks for the music to be "Submitted to the CDDB", but the links they provided to explain what this is and how it works, don't work.

I tried to do this with my album and a number of other songs in my iTunes player under Advanced / Submit CD Track Names, but it's greyed out and won't work. How do I get this feature to work?

CDDB is the Gracenote database that many applications, including iTunes, use to obtain artist, album and track information when an audio CD is imported. If you're going to be releasing your CD for sale, you'll want to insert a copy of your CD (do not import it, just let it mount in iTunes), edit all the information so that it's correct as regards artist name, album name, track names, genre, etc., and then use the Submit Track Names command. That way when people who buy your CD import it into iTunes, they'll get all the correct information.

Regards.

Would it be: Advanced / Get CD Track Names and Get Album Artwork instead?

Since it's a new CD and no info is in Gracenote, there's nothing to get.

Would the Advanced / Submit Track Names feature not work because I need to send a specific file type, such as MP3 vs. AIFF

No, because you are not submitting any files to Gracenote. You are only submitting information about a CD.

Aaaah, yes, there was no mention of the actual "physical" CD needing to be in the player. I thought I could do this with the uploaded tracks "from the CD" I added to my iTunes library.
