Can iPhoto "stitch" photos together?

Question

Can iPhoto "stitch" photos together?

I've just converted (back) to the Mac world and am looking for a feature in iPhoto that I had in my Canon utilities on the PC: the ability to "stitch" together several photos to create a panoramic view.
Can iPhoto do this? Another program on the Mac?

hi steve, check your camera installation CDs as the PhotoStitch program is for Macintosh too, so there should be a Mac version on the CD.

Easier said than done to go back to the Canon disk I'm afraid.

It seems to require the presence of an OS9 system folder -- despite the fact that Canon claims the version on my CD is OS X compatible.

Any ideas how to install directly into OSX? I'd hate to have to enable Classic just for this installation.

Steve, this is the only info I found on Canon's site

"PhotoStitch
PhotoStitch can be used to merge multiple images into panoramas. PhotoStitch is available individually for Mac OS X and Mac OS 9.0~9.2. PhotoStitch v3.1 is compatible with Mac OS X 10.3 or newer. Customers who purchased a PowerShot or EOS Digital Camera that was not supplied with a Mac OS X-compatible version of PhotoStitch can purchase the latest Canon Digital Camera Solution Disk or EOS Digital Solution Disk at 1-800-828-4040 for $19.95, subject to availability."
