Random Artists Don't Appear Under "Artist" Category

Some random artists' names on my 120GB classic ipod don't show under the "artist" category, but are in my itunes. The albums can be found by doing an "album" search on the ipod, but the artist's names are not in the artist category. Soes anyone know how to get the artist's name to appear on the ipod?

It sounds as though these tracks are marked as part of compilations in iTunes (fairly common as the info from CDDB is not always 100% correct). Compilations are treated differently when sorted on the iPod.

Check the tracks in question in iTunes (right click, choose Get info, and go to the Info tab) and remove the check next to "Part of a compilation" if you see it. You can also change all tracks on an album by highlighting all of the tracks, then right clicking, Get Info, and going to the Options tab. There, just set "Part of a compilation" to No. When you resync, all should be fine.
