I already have an apple id but when i try to sign in and it asks me to review and update my account since i never used the apple id with iTunes before. I accept the terms and then it asks me for a payment option. I was searching on the forums and i found a page on how to do this but it tells me to pick none for payment option but the choice "none" is not a there. This page said this is for creating an entire new account, but i have an apple id already so i don't know what to do.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.6), 2.4 GHz Processor, 2 GB of Memory, 250 GB Hard Drive

Sign in to what, iTunes? Have you ever purchased anything from iTunes Store?
If Not, seems your Apple ID is not the same as iTunes ID. Me, I've been struggling with my accounts ID, here at the forums and at the iTunes Store. You just have to be patient and try to get both to work in each divisions. As for accounts, credit cards and such, iTunes does PayPal so your credit card info never has to reside in both locations, just one.

If it's any comfort, my card details are so old - I never updated them - so in effect I now have no payment details with them!
