How do I reinstall a previous 2.0 update?

Ok, long story short.... tried to update a 1st gen iPod touch to 2.2... it would not work (used a mac and windows machine). Paid for the update, Apple is refunding me.

Had previously paid for the 2.0 update, which is what was on the iPod before the disastrous upgrade. I've reverted the iPod to 1.1.5 (or something like that) but how do I go back to the 2.0 that was paid for?

When the iPod is connected, iTunes keeps trying to install 2.2.1, which isn't going to happen.

On the mac, I was able to downgrade to 1.1.5 by option clicking the restore button, but the 2.0 software was initially downloaded on the windows machine. Where is the software on Windows XP and is there a similar "option click" feature?

Thanks.

Powerbook G4, Mac OS X (10.4.11), iPod Touch 2nd Gen 2.2.1

Hi,

I did it a while ago when an update broke BBC iPlayer.

Holding "shift" while clicking "restore" on my summary page, navigating to

C:\Documents and Settings\"name"\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates

Then choosing the last but one update file, 2.1, then restoring, in you case 2.0??

Got my BBC iPlayer back.

This issue was later fixed by the BBC as it was their fault, not Apples.

Regards,

Dud.
