emusic won't sync with itunes after installing upgrade
I just installed the itunes 8.1 upgrade, and now emusic says I have to re-install itunes before it will import new downloads. I frankly don't exactly know how to go about re-installing itunes and would appreciate some help in this regard.
I use eMusic too and I haven't upgraded iTunes yet. I'm glad that I haven't. I'm scared of those issues you described. What happens when eMusic manager downloads the songs? Do you have to manually add them to iTunes from there?
I've got same problem, and same concern about "reinstalling" iTunes per eMusic's suggestion. For time being, I've set eMusic Download Manager so it is not synced with iTunes. That way, I can successfully download songs from eMusic and avoid the syncing problem. After I've downloaded, I then play the downloaded song through the Download Manager, which loads song onto iTunes.
Well I'm glad that works for you as a "work-around" until this gets resolved.
You know if you have just downloaded an entire album from eMusic then you can just always drag-n-drop that folder into iTunes like I do and since I have iTunes set to copy the files automatically then that's what it'll do.
Oh, btw what music do you enjoy from eMusic? My nickname there is: dreammessenger
I like Liquid Mind, R. Carlos Nakai, dance music, & various other new age music.

You don't have to reinstall. Just repair. Exit iTunes and eMusic download manager. Go to Control Panel, Add Remove programs, click iTunes, then Change, then Repair. Restart iTunes, the eMusic DM. Worked for me. No information was lost.
