How to Disable Midi Equiptment in Garage Band

I do sound for a live talk show at a bar. I use Torq and an M-Audio Xponent controller. to play the music. I also have Garageband up and running to trigger sound effects using software instruments I have made (applause tracks laughter etc..) When I use the volume faders on my xponent it fades the volume on the garageband track I have selected to trigger my samples (I have the musical typing up to trigger samples) Is there I way in Garageband I can make it not see my a midi controller? This would be very helpful.

Thanks,

Brian

I also assume there is no way to midi map it either?

I think there is.

I'm not sure if Enigma from M-Audio would work:

Or if you'd need a 3rd party app. There's a good 3rd party app that does this - I forget its name offhand, but did a quick search and found Midipipe (it might be this one):

M-Audio tech support might also be able to help.

Thanks, For now I'll just remember to assume the volume got adjusted by my controller and adjust it on-screen before I trigger a sample. Does anyone know a better way to do this? Right now I just made software instruments for each type of sample. One for sound effects, one for voice clips, one for animal sounds etc... then have tracks for each up and running, and when I click on a track the musical typing changes to the appropiate software instrument and I can trigger the sample. maybe I should post this question in a new topic.
