MathType inline equations add alot of spacing.

Hi, I am using MathType to write equations in my text. But when I use it to write constants that consists of a single letter it makes a huge spacing between the lines.

Example:
Here is some text, and here is a constant A. Now there is a huge spacing

betweent he row above and this row. When it really should just look like
this between the lines.

Is there any way to adjust this spacing? I understand that there will have to be a spacing if you enter big formulaes but just one letter should not need spacing.
