Need help re-installing iTunesHelper

Been searching the web to find a way to re-install iTunesHelper, which I removed. I would like very much to re-install it, but can't find any info on how to do it. I did update my iTunes to 8.1 the other day, and was hoping it would install iTunesHelper along with the update, but unfortunately, it didn't. Can someone help me find some info on how to re-install it?

Thanks.

Hello, Welcome to Apple Discussions.

If you launch System Preferences - User Account - Click on your user, then click on Login Items Tab

Do you see iTunesHelper in the list? Is it checked? if it is uncheck it & restart the Mac. Once you are backup and running launch iTunes.

You may also wish to uninstall and reinstall iTunes.

You do not have to delete your iTunes Folder. You can skip past that step as it will include your iTunes Music data that you want to keep.

It should be part of the Package Contents of 8.1 - Command-click the iTunes icon, then Show Package Contents, then Resources - it should be there, meaning you did install it (it's part of iTunes). Downloads and reinstalls of iTunes automatically include it.

There should also be a .plist file for it in ~user/Library/Preferences
