Wireless mouse intermittent

Hi,

Just got a new iMac. Wired keyboard, wireless mouse. Works fine most of the time, but every now and then the mouse quits working. If I turn off bluetooth and then back on, it always comes back. But to do that I need a mouse! I've had to get out an old mouse to plug in to do this.
It's brand new, why would this happen. I have 2 wireless mice at work, NEVER had a problem like this.

Hello Ryan:

I think the line of least resistance would be to take the Mac and mouse to an Apple store. Alternatively, you could call Applecare. Since your equipment is relatively new, it is in warranty.

HI Ryan,

Try deleting this file. com.apple.Bluetooth.plist

/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that file from the Preferences folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and restart your iMac.

See if that makes a difference. Also, make sure there isn't anything causing interference.

You could also try re=pairing the mouse using the Bluetooth Setup Assistant.

Anyone have success in fixing this problem yet? It seems pretty widespread and is driving me crazy on my new 24" iMac. See http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=394937

Never had this problem on my other Macs.
